Dov Hertz

Principal
DH Property Holdings
New York, NY

Dov Hertz is the principal of DH Property Holdings, a developmental firm he established in November 2016 with Aaron Malitzky. The company has the backing of a wealthy real estate family, whom Hertz declined to identify, as well as equity funds.

Previously Dov was an executive vice president in charge of acquisitions at Extell Development, a New York City-based developer.
Hertz, whose first name rhymes with cove, was responsible for assembling the parcels of land needed to build Extell's skyscrapers. Assemblages require navigating zoning codes, acquiring air rights, and negotiating tenant buyouts, and Extell is considered an assemblage master thanks in large part to Hertz. He gathered together the seven parcels, plus two buildings worth of air rights, needed to construct One57, the 90-story condo-hotel.
Hertz also had a hand in the assemblage for the 34-story International Gem Tower at 50 West 47th Street. In the 1990s, he worked as a commercial real estate broker for Eastern Consolidated for two years before joining Everest Broadband Networks, a IT communications company, during the dot-com boom. At Everest, his network of landlord contacts helped with negotiating access deals in order to wire buildings with internet service.
Hertz joined Extell in 2003 following the dot-com bust, after a one-year stint at brokerage the Lawrence Group. He attended New York University where he earned advanced certification in real estate taxation.
