George Schieferdecker is an architect and a partner at BKSK Architects in New York City. He joined the firm at its founding in 1985 and his projects include 25 Bond Street, the Plainsboro Public Library, the 52nd Street Project theater and educational home, and the East End Temple. Schieferdecker, who was born in the Netherlands but moved to the United States as a child, won an AIA Award for 25 Bond Street. From 1983 to 1985, he worked as a project manager at Stephen Potter Architects. From 1981 to 1983, he worked as a draftsman at Sartogo Schwarting Architects. From 1976 to 1978, he worked as a junior draftsman at Childs, Bertman, Tseckares and Casendino in Boston. He received a master’s in architecture from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation in 1981, a degree from Boston Architectural Center in 1978, and a BA from Middlebury College in Vermont in 1974. He majored in English literature at Middlebury. –MK
