125 Park Avenue

Website

James Kuhn has been the president of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank since 1992, and is a principal there as well.

As such, he helps oversee a Manhattan-based company that, through mergers and acquisitions, has grown to more than 12,000 employees worldwide, with more than 90 offices, including the U.S. and South America. He is also chairman of the companys National Capital Markets and Property Management Boards.

Before and after joining Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in 1992, Kuhn worked as a top commercial broker in New York City, brokering or advising in more than $4 billion worth of transactions involving some 30 million square feet. He also partnered with Bernard Mendik on the acquisition of 11 million square feet of office space and 6,000 apartments, a portfolio the duo sold to Vornado Realty Trust in 1997.

Born in May 1948 and raised in Manhattans Stuyvesant Town, Kuhn went to Syracuse University, from which he also holds an MBA. -TA
