    Joel Seiden has been a fixture in the New York City real estate scene since the 1990s, having co-founded and managed Stonehenge Partners. Seiden started as a broker at J.I. Kislak Real Estate Group, then worked at New Jersey-based brokerage firm Gebroe-Hammer before running into Ofer Yardeniwith whom he had worked on a dealand offered to help Yardeni start his first business. Together they created Stonehenge.
    But recently Seiden has shifted his interests. In 2013, Stonehenge shook up its upper executive echelons, with Seiden stepping down as CEO. At the same time, Seiden also formed a strategic advisory board, which he and co-founder Ofer Yardeni would co-chair, to examine and improve Stonehenges efficiency in the market.

    A year later, Seiden stepped down as co-chairman at the firm and sold his nearly 50 percent stake in the firm to partner SL Green Realty, which is one of the citys largest commercial landlords. Stonehenge and SL Green had partnered previously on several investments, but had gradually been upping their involvement in residential real estate.

    Seiden has also set up with his daughter, Laurin, the Seiden Charitable Foundation, which focused on contributions to education. Seiden, who graduated from Boston University, has also been a vocal vegan since 2008. -NR
