Judie Desiderio started Town & Country Real Estate, which bills itself as the largest, most comprehensive locally owned and operated, independent real estate agency on Long Island's East End. It certainly has the numbers on its side.

The brokerage dates from the early 1980s, when Desiderio launched Town & Country in partnership with the international Town & Country brand. She has led it since the beginning.

The firm now has offices in 32 towns and cities in the East End, including its headquarters in East Hampton, and around 150 brokers. Because of its age and size, Town & Country plays the entire East End real estate field, including commercial properties and rentals. It had $352 million in listings as of June 1, 2015, making it the seventh-largest brokerage in the East End.

Desiderio herself is an active broker (and East End resident). She mainly trades in residential properties asking at least seven figures.
