Kathleen McCarthy is a New York City-based real estate asset management executive specializing in the investor relations, business development, human resources, finance and compliance. In 2010, she joined Blackstone Group, where she was initially responsible for marketing the private equity firm's real estate funds. As of 2016 her title was senior managing director and global chief operating officer of the real estate group. McCarthy began her career at Goldman Sachs, where she was hired as an investment-banking analyst in the mergers and acquisitions group in 2000. Two years later, she moved into the bank's real estate group, working first as an analyst, then as an associate and finally as a vice president. At Goldman, McCarthy made real estate acquisitions and managed existing investments on behalf of the Whitehall family of funds. Her expertise covered real estate in the United States, the Caribbean and Central America. She is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, a nonprofit trade association for the industry. McCarthy received a B.A. with distinction from Yale University, where she majored in ethics, politics, and economics.
