Leighton C. Candler is a real estate broker who specializes in multi-million dollar transactions on apartment units in exclusive cooperative buildings in Manhattan. Since 2001, she has worked at The Corcoran Group. Candler, spent her early childhood in the neighborhood of Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia. She moved to New York City in 1979 to attend Parsons School of Design and graduated in 1983. Out of college, Candler spent 3 years working in the Paris office of a US interior design firm, followed by a stint as a vice president and head designer for Elizabeth Draper, Inc. In the late 1980s, Candler left Draper to start her own interior design company and from the early 1990s to 2001, she worked as a broker at Brown Harris Stevens, before joining Corcoran. She has lived in the same rental studio apartment on Central Park South since the late 1980s and owns a home in the Hamptons, in Water Mill, New York. MK
