Michael Shvo is a New York City broker-turned-real estate developer and the founder, president, and chief executive of SHVO, his namesake company. He is known for highly stylized developments that incorporate elements from the worlds of fashion and contemporary art. Shvos projects include the Philippe Starck-designed Gramercy, 20 Pine that features Armani Casa-designed interiors, and The Lumiere on 53rd Street.

Shvo, who was born in 1972 and grew up in Israel, got his start in real estate as a broker at Prudential Douglas Elliman. He joined the residential brokerage in 1999 and left in 2004 to found SHVO. Shvo's business ventures faltered during the financial crisis and his Rector Square condominium entered foreclosure while already occupied. His fortunes have rebounded in tandem with the market.

Outside of real estate, Mr. Shvo is an avid collector of contemporary art. In 2013, produced “The Getty Sheep Station,” a public art installation in the heart of West Chelsea’s High Line neighborhood featuring the sculptural work of Les LaLannes.

He has a BA from Bar-Ilan University in Israel and is married to Seren Ceylan, a Turkish model.
