Norman Sturner is president and chief executive officer of MHP Real Estate Services, formerly Murray Hill Properties, which he co-founded in 1971 with Neil Siderow. He has acquired and sold more than 150 properties, with a total value exceeding $12 billion (as of May 2015). Together with Clarion Partners, in January 2015 the company bought Maiden Lane for $470 million, its largest purchase ever, and started a $28 million renovation of the 1.2-million-square-foot Class A office tower. Previous properties owned by MHP include the New York Stock Exchange building.
A member of the Real Estate Board of New York, Sturner has been named to Commercial Observers Power 100 along with his son, David. He was born Sept. 6, 1940 in the Bronx, and grew up in Brooklyn and in Bayside, Queens. -NE
