Peter Fine is the principal and co-founder, with Marc Altheim, of New York City-based development firm Atlantic Development Group.

Fine grew up in a government-subsidized housing complex in Flushing, Queens, and was the son of a taxi driver. After he received an M.A. in sociology from New York University in 1986, he worked for the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty and then the Educational Alliance. Before leaving social work, he helped the homeless find a place to stay.

In 1991, he switched to being an entrepreneur and started a short-lived firm that developed retirement homes as well as housing for the sick. He co-founded Atlantic Development in 1995. Fine also runs a South Florida firm, To Better Days Development, which builds upscale waterfront mansions. In 2017 Fine spun off Atlantic Development's construction arms into two affiliated firms, Bolivar Development and Bolivar Builders.

Fine is also a Broadway producer. His productions include Lin-Manuel Miranda's "In the Heights," which won a Tony for best musical in 2008, and a "West Side Story" revival. Fine has three children, Sarah, Robby and Katie, with his wife, Elizabeth.
