Arguably the most famous of the famous Kalikow real estate dynasty, Peter Kalikow has stepped far beyond his fathers and grandfathers shadows. Starting his real estate career straight out of college in the late 1960s, he ended up running his familys leading New York City real estate firm, H.J. Kalikow & Co., within a few years. After his father died in 1982, Kalikow took over Kalikow Holdings.

Kalikow has an extensive and varied resume outside of real estate. He was a commissioner of The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and spent six years as the chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. He also owned the New York Postwhich he says he bought on an impulsebefore the tabloid was bought out by Rupert Murdoch in the early 1990s after Kalikow declared bankruptcy.

Kalikow also dabbled in politics, advising Sen. Alfonse DAmato and serving as a significant fundraiser to several Republican candidates over the years. He has also served on the boards of several philanthropic boards and colleges.

Kalikow, who was born and raised in Forest Hills, Queens, is considered one of the premier car collectors in the United States, particularly with vintage Ferraris. He graduated with a degree in business administration from Hofstra University. -NR
