In his role as a senior vice president at Muss Development, Ross Spitalnick manages some 4 million square feet of the firms approximately 10 million-square-foot portfolio. His purview includes commercial, residential and retail propertiesand the acquisition, design, development, construction, leasing and asset-management involved with them.

Muss Development dates from 1906, when Isaac Muss began constructing residential projects in the outer-boroughs. His firm soon moved into commercial projects as well, though Muss is still known for being a big player in residential beyond Manhattan.

Notable projects over the last century-plus have included the first Class A office building in Flushing, Queens, dubbed Flushing Plaza; the Oceana Condominium and Club, a 15-building project in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn; and Princes Point, a 23-acre, 120-home waterfront development in Staten Island. Muss has also dabbled in parking-garage construction and ownership.

Prior to joining Muss in June 2008, Spitalnick worked as the leasing director for Edison Properties for four years. He graduated from New York University. -TA
