    Steven Durels is an executive vice president and director of leasing at SL Green Realty Corporation, one of the largest real estate investment trusts (REIT) and commercial landlords in New York. Durels heads up SL Greens leasing duties for all its New York commercial office assets.

    Durels joined SL Green in 1998 after working for 16 years at commercial real estate firm Helmsley-Spear, where Durels was also director of leasing and oversaw a 2.5-million-square-foot portfolio. At SL Green, Durels manages a marketing and leasing team of 19 and regularly closes in the range of 300 lease deals in a year. One of his biggest deals came late in 2013, when SL Green re-signed CitiGroup to a lease for 2.6 million square feet at 388-390 Greenwich Street in Tribeca in a deal worth more than $1 billion.

    He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). Durels brother, Thomas Durels, is also a director leasing, but for Empire State Realty Trust.
