Vickey Barron is a broker at Compass, the residential real estate brokerage. She left Douglas Elliman in June 2017 to join its biggest competitor in New York. She originally got her start in real estate when she moved to New York in 1999 and got hired by Elliman that same year. The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) named her Rookie of the Year. After leaving Elliman in 2011, she re-joined in June 2013, after a two year stint at rival Core Group Marketing. Barron grew up in Southern California. She has served as co-chairwoman of REBNY's Salespersons' Council, as well as REBNY’s Education Committee, and Ethics Committee, and she has served on Douglas Elliman's Advisory Board. Barron also sits on the Board of Directors of the Art Deco Society of New York. Before her New York City real estate career, Barron worked for FHP, a health maintenance organization that matched doctors with temporary assignments in Guam. She a founding member of the NY Residential Specialist Credentials Committee, which trains brokers who want to specialize in NYC real estate. She is a former theater and acting student. As of October 2018, Barron lives in the Walker Tower.
