    Warren Gorrell, or J. Warren Gorrell, Jr., is a partner and CEO emeritus at law firm Hogan Lovells. He splits his time between the firm’s Washington, DC and New York offices and his law practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), securities offerings, tender offers and exchange offers, and joint ventures. His sub-specialty is advising clients in the real estate and hospitality industries, particularly real estate investment trusts (REITs). Gorrell served as co-chief executive of Hogan Lovells from 2010 to 2014. From 2001 to 2010, he served as chairman of DC-based Hogan & Hartson, which merged with London-based peer Lovells in 2010. Gorrell is considered an architect of the trans-Atlantic merger. He joined Hogan & Hartson in 1979 and was made partner in 1986. Gorrell’s clients have included General Electric in its $27 billion sale of its real estate business to Blackstone and Wells Fargo, Trizec, Homes Properties, and Equity Office. He received a JD from University of Virginia School of Law in 1979 and a bachelor of arts degree from Princeton University in 1976. He graduated from Princeton magna cum laude. –MK
