One Brookfield Place is a 40-story, 1,739,000-square-foot commercial and retail tower in Lower Manhattan. Known as 1 World Financial Center until 2014, it often goes by its address of 200 Liberty Street.

The tower is owned and operated by Brookfield, the Canadian giant that also controls, through its various subsidiaries, several other Manhattan properties, including 45 Park Avenue, 300 Madison Avenue and the under-development Manhattan West project. Brookfield has offices in 1 Brookfield place.

Some 52,000 square feet of the tower is comprised of retail space, with the rest for office and support services, such as its 80,000 square feet of parking. Its typical floorplate is 30,000 to 75,000 rentable square feet. Office rents generally run in the $60s per square foot.

Tenants at One Brookfield Place include law firms Richards Kibbe & Orbe LLP, Willis and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft as well as financial brokerage Wunderlich Securities. The tower was also for 20 years home to the Wall Street Journal, which decamped in 2009 for Midtown digs.

David Cheikin of Brookfield handles office leasing at the tower; and Edward Hogan, also of Brookfield, handles retail deals. One Brookfield Place was designed by Cesar Pelli & Associates and built in 1986.
