103 East 86th Street
New York, NY 10028
Retail, Residential, Leasing/Rental, Multifamily

The building at 103 East 86th Street, built in 1914, has changed gradually over the years, but the bones have remained largely untouched.

For many years it was owned by the Jaglom family, considered one of the wealthiest in Israel and which owned several properties in the United States. In 2008, ABRO Management Corporation, based in suburban New York, purchased the building for $49 million. Four years later, real estate developers Stonehenge Partnersco-founded by Israeli ex-patriot Ofer Yardenibought the Carnegie Hill building for $76 million. Although the building at the time was considered a prime target for condo conversion, Stonehengewhich renamed the bulding Stonehenge 86decided against conversion and kept the propertys apartments as rentals, instead merely updating the interiors and the buildings lobby.

Today the building has kept much of its pre-war luxuries: units are three- to five-bedrooms, many with working fireplaces and original crown molding. -NR
