    141 Livingston Street is a 175,000-square-foot, 16-floor office building, completed in 1959, in Downtown Brooklyn. The building is on the taller side for the Livingston Street corridor, an area filled with government offices. In 2002, Clipper Equity, the real estate development and landlord firm of David Bistricer, acquired the Morris Lapidus-designed building for $14 million from Blackacre Capital Management, the real estate investment arm of Cerebus Capital Management. The deal was a 2-building portfolio transaction that also included another Downtown Brooklyn office building, 250 Livingston Street. In 2014, the city renewed its lease for space in 141 Livingston Street for continued use for its Brooklyn Housing Court for another 10 years, and have rented an additional 30,000 square feet of space. The rent jumped to $8.2 million a year from $3.3 million, reflecting Brooklyns surging property market. The lease contains an option to terminate after 5 years. The court will eventually move to 210 Joralemon Street, a few blocks away, but that site, the city-owned Brooklyn Municipal Building, is not slated to receive its new tenant until June 2020, at the earliest. 141 Livingston Street needs works: elevators break down, air conditioners falter. Its office space configuration is ill-suited for a court. Bistricer said he will fix the elevators and the heating and cooling system. The city will spend an additional $11 million to customize the extra 30,000 square feet. ¾-MK
