The 16-floor, 177-foot commercial building at 50 West 57th Street in Midtowns Plaza District was finished in 1927, right before the Great Depression. It was designed in the Neo-Classical style.

Its 78,000 square feet are made up of floor plates that run from 3,800 square feet to 5,400 square feet. Major office tenants include Signature Bank; eatery Mangia is retail tenant.

Vornado Realty Trust and the LeFrak Organization own the building jointly. Vornado is one of the largest real estate investment trusts in the nation, and controls some 9 million square feet in particular in the Penn Station area. LeFrak is a privately held family firm with more than 40 million square feet of holdings nationwideincluding total or partial control of nearby 57th street addresses such as Nos. 29-33, No. 49 and No. 50.
