Barclays Center at 620 Atlantic Avenue is an indoor sports and entertainment arena in downtown Brooklyn that can seat as many as 19,000 people. It is home to the NBAs Brooklyn Nets; it has also hosted professional wrestling matches and hockey games as well as college basketball tournaments and concerts. (The NHLs New York Islanders will move to the arena in 2015.)

Built by developer Forest City Ratner and its investment partners, including principal Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov, the $1 billion arena opened in September 2012 as the centerpiece of the massive Atlantic Yards development. London-based bank Barclays bought the naming rights from the Nets for $400 million in 2007.

In March 2007, Forest City Ratner announced it would cap the arena with a 130,000-square-foot green roof of soil and plants.
