Jersey City
Jersey City, the second-largest city in the state of New Jersey, is a popular destination of New Yorkers looking for more space and a tolerable commute into Manhattan. The city, just across the Hudson River from Lower Manhattan, has a population of 260,000 and growing. What was once a dock and manufacturing town has been transformed into a desirable location for high-end real estate developments. These include the 55-story Trump Plaza, the Sutton, the 82-unit Waldo Lofts, the 38-unit Soleil Lofts, and Fulton's Landing on Essex Street. The PATH train that runs into Lower Manhattan has four stops in Jersey City. Some Manhattan-based financial institutions have satellite offices in buildings along the Jersey City waterfront. -TA
