Stonehenge 18

364 West 18th Street
New York, NY 10011
Retail, Residential, Leasing/Rental, Multifamily

Probably the biggest selling point to Stonehenge 18, the six-story building at 364 West 18th Street, is that it is within four avenues from nearly every subway line in Manhattan. The building, built in 1938, had swapped owners for years until hotel owner Morris Moinian bought it in 2007 for a recorded $31 million.

However, the property was considered an odd fit for Moinian, and it wasnt long until he listed it. Real estate investment firm Stonehenge Partners bought the building from The Moinian Group in 2011 for $65 million (the property was originally listed in 2010 by Moinian for $36 million). At the time of the sale, Stonehenge co-managing partner Ofer Yardeni said what drove the firm to the property was the location, a dynamic neighborhood and one of Manhattans most coveted.
Since buying it, Stonehenge has reworked its commercial tenants, booting the small businesses in favor of larger chain stores (Wells Fargo eventually moved in). ¾-NR
