    Stonehenge Gardens

    108 West 15th Street
    New York, NY 10011
    Retail, Residential, Leasing/Rental, Multifamily

Stonehedge Gardens is a long-standing and relatively unassuming property in owner Stonehenge Partners portfolio. Only six floors high, the auburn-brick building is most known for the gated greenery framing its walkway and front door.

Built in 1950, the building at 108 West 15th Street was designed by renowned Polish architect Hyman Issac Feldman, who built a number of other buildings in the Chelsea and West Village neighborhoods. Today it serves as an apartment building, with three storefronts on the street level featuring mostly low-level retail or eateries (a diner and taqueria have graced those spots). In 2009, 7-Eleven signed a lease at the building as the convenience store chain blitzed Manhattan with about 44 stores that year.

Owner Stonehenge Partners refinanced the building three times: in 2002, 2004, and most recently in 2009 (the latter of which was a five-year, $15.3 million mortgage). -NR
