Upper West Side
New York, NY 10024
Retail, Residential, Sales, Leasing/Rental, Condo

The Upper West Side is a neighborhood in Manhattan, bounded by 59th and 116th Street, Central Park, and the Hudson River. Two major cultural institutions, Columbia University to the north and Lincoln Center to the south, bookend the neighborhood. As a result, the Upper West Side has a reputation for being home to intellectuals. Many films written and directed by Woody Allen capture this atmosphere. Notable ñgrandî apartment houses located on the Upper West Side include the Ansonia, the Apthorp, The Dakota, and The Beresford. The residential housing stock also includes many townhouses. Contemporary residential developments include the Laureate at 2150 Broadway, The Aldyn at 60 Riverside Boulevard, The Rushmore at 80 Riverside Boulevard, and the Avery at 100 Riverside Boulevard. -GB

Kondylis, a giant in the industry best known for his extensive design work for Donald Trump, went on to form another firm in 2010. At the time, Hill told the Architectural Record that the split was due to “competing visions” â€' that he and his partners wanted to focus on New York projects rather than international ones. In the past seven years, GHW has become one of the city’s most prolific firms, taking on high-profile clients like Extell Development, Silverstein Properties and Forest City Ratner. The firm was tapped to work on two projects in Long Island City this year. One is Chris Jiashu Xu's proposed 79-story, 779,958-square-foot residential tower at 23-15 44 Drive. The other is Stawski Partners' mixed-use, 934,864-square-foot tower at 23-03 44th Road. GHW is also working on three buildings at Waterline Square, a long-delayed residential development project on the Upper West Side...

Our ranking only includes senior mortgages filed in public records, which means two big construction loans didn't make the cut. In September, SL Green Realty announced it had closed on a $1.5 billion construction loan for its One Vanderbilt office development from a syndicate including Wells Fargo, The Bank of New York Mellon, JP Morgan Chase, TD Bank and Bank of China. But the bulk of the loan has yet to hit public records. And in November, GID Development and Henley Holding landed a $1.23 billion construction loan for the Waterline Square megadevelopment on the Upper West Side from a syndicate including Wells Fargo, HSBC, JPMorgan Chase and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi...
