New Yorkers flee state for cheaper housing

The chase for more affordable housing is driving Americans from expensive coastal states like New York and California, according to an analysis of U.S. Census population estimates out Thursday. New York state, in fact, lost people for the first time since 1980 in the 12 months ending July 1.
