As the clock runs down on 2005, debate remains about which were the biggest New York City real estate purchases of the year. Rupert Murdoch’s $44 million buy of the late Laurence Rockefeller’s Fifth Avenue penthouse was definitely the year’s biggest co-op purchase at least, for a single sale. For condos, it was probably the $29 million purchase of a spread at the top of the north tower of the Time Warner Center by Sandra Tillotson, an executive with Nu Skin cosmetics company. more [NYT]
