City lifts stop-work order against Schnabel

The city’s Buildings Department has lifted its stop-work order against artist Julian Schnabel’s nine-story addition on his West Village studio at 360 West 11th Street. Schnabel can now move forward with the addition. His plans had been a lighting rod in the debate over building dimensions in the West Village, and were originally halted by the Buildings Department because of the October vote by the City Council downzoning much of the neighborhood. more [NYO]
