Lower East Side historic district floated

Representatives from the Tenement Museum on Orchard Street are expected Wednesday to meet with city officials about a proposal to create a large historic district for the Lower East Side. The district, which would include more than 400 buildings, would cover roughly the area between Houston Street on the north and Division Street on the south; Allen Street on the west and Essex Street on the east.
