Chapel demolition may make room for condos

The Catholic Archdiocese of New York plans to demolish a chapel on Washington Square Park and sell off most of the large plot it’s now on for possible residential development, including luxury condos. The Catholic Center at New York University, located on Washington Square Park South, will reportedly be rebuilt as a smaller facility in the next few years and will then occupy a small portion of the existing 35,000-square-foot plot. more [Sun]
