Rental market tightens as rents rise

Finding a nice, affordable rental in Manhattan may be near impossible this summer, according to a new report. The rental vacancy rate in the borough dropped below 1 percent in March, brokerage Citi Habitats reported, and the average rent for a one-bedroom was $2,516 a month, up 9 percent from March 2005. more [NYDN]
