Developer buys into ever-pricier Plaza

Developer Harry Macklowe has reportedly bought two condos in the Plaza and plans to combine both. The condos overlook Fifth Avenue, and give Macklowe a view of the General Motors Building, which he purchased in 2003. Some of the 181 condos at the Plaza, now undergoing renovation from all-hotel to a hotel-condo mix, are supposedly going for north of $5,000 a square foot. more [Slatin]
