Mortgage rates hit nearly four-year high

Mortgage rates nationwide are at their highest since the summer of 2002. The average rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rose to 6.59 percent for the week ending May 4 from the prior week’s 6.58 percent, according to Freddie Mac.
