West 56th houses slated for demolition

Four Beaux-Arts townhouses on the 56th Street block between Fifth and Sixth avenues face demolition to make room for a new apartment building. Demolition is planned at townhouses at 31, 33, 35, and 37 West 56th Street to clear space for a 16-story high-rise with street-level offices and 47 apartments.
