Younger New Yorkers opt out of Hamptons

The Hamptons are so over for many younger New Yorkers. Instead of dedicating chunks of their summers to shares in the East End, younger city dwellers are opting for the simpler — and less costlier — pleasures of summer fun within the five boroughs. These include the water taxi beach at Hunters Point in Queens and any rooftop barbecue that can be readily found.
