Automobile Row — are its days numbered?

For now, at least, the stretch of 11th Avenue dominated by car dealerships is protected from disappearing. The area, bounded by 43rd and 57th streets, is currently zoned for manufacturing. But, to its north and its south, residential construction is the new wave. more [NYT]
