West Chelsea bars, night clubs multiply

Bars and clubs — and bar and club patrons — have multiplied within one small area of Chelsea in the last few years. In 2001, there were eight establishments with liquor licenses from West 26th to West 29th streets between 10th and 11th avenues, with a total patron capacity of 1,019.
