Could co-op price law extend taxes?

The state law signed last week by Gov. Pataki that makes co-op sales prices public may be part of a plan to raise taxes $1 billion a year by extending the mortgage recording tax to co-ops. Until now, the tax has only applied to condos and houses. Some, including attorneys, think the new price disclosure law may extend the tax to co-ops. more [Sun]
