421-a abatement debate heating up

The debate over changing or chucking the city’s 421-a tax abatement for new development is coming to a head this month. Today, a committee set up in February by Mayor Bloomberg to review the abatement is expected to adjourn. Also, a group of local leaders is expected to announce a proposal for honing the 421-a into a vehicle for affordable housing. more [Sun]
