Federal aid for 2nd Ave subway

President Bush’s 2008 budget earmarked $1.3 billion in federal aid for construction of the Second Avenue subway, and $215 million was promised for the LIRR-Grand Central link. The first phase of Second Avenue subway construction is projected to carry a price tag of $3.8 billion; the LIRR link’s cost is estimated at $6.3 billion. more [AMNY]
