Gowanus site cleanup plan released

The DEC released a plan for cleaning up the Gowanus site known as the Public Place. The city-owned land sits on an 11-acre, long-unused parcel in the Brooklyn neighborhood. There used to be a gas plant on the property, and the land is heavily contaminated with coal tar.
