State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo landed the latest blow to the pending $1.3 billion Starrett City sale by saying that David Bistricer, who heads the group that won the bid for the property, has been banned from converting rental buildings in New York state to condominiums or co-operatives because of financial improprieties. “Enforcement of this injunction may very well kill this ill-conceived deal and protect the tenants of Starrett City,” Mr. Cuomo said in a statement. more [NYT]
