Queens group’s congestion summit

A group of Queens residents will hold the Western Jackson Heights Alliance’s Anti-Slumification Summit tonight to discuss the heavy pedestrian and car traffic they say is overrunning their neighborhood, particularly at the intersection of 73rd Street and 37th Avenue. “It’s a complete mess. Ambulances can’t get through, police cars can’t get through and people are always honking at each other at the intersection,” said Will Sweeney, the alliance’s co-founder. more [NYDN]
