Although City Council Speaker Christine Quinn was one of the most vocal opponents of Tishman Speyer’s bid to buy Stuy Town last year, campaign contributions indicate that Quinn and Speyer are now on much friendlier terms. Rob Speyer, Tishman Speyer’s managing director, has corralled $22,275 in contributions for Quinn’s likely 2009 mayoral run. The amount represents the second-highest sum Quinn has received for the campaign, and it’s the most money a real estate firm has donated to any of the future mayoral campaigns thus far. Speyer has not raised funds for any other candidates. more [NYO]
