Abyssinian Development Corp. will turn Harlem’s Renaissance Ballroom and Renaissance Casino into a condominium. The nonprofit developer will erect a 19-story, 112-unit condo on the site of the old club at 138th Street and Adam Clayton Boulevard, which was built in the ’20s and was known as one of Harlem’s great cultural hubs. Landmarking of the structure, which has been unused for 30 years, had been discussed for over a decade and was formally rejected by the LPC last month. more [Sun]
