The Hudson River Park Trust, which secured $70 million from the Lower Manhattan Redevelopment Corporation to rebuild Pier 25 and 26 in Tribeca, now says the funding is not enough for it to carry out plans for the piers. The piers, which were torn down last year, are supposed to be rebuilt with sports facilities and a boathouse. The trust says it needs at least $20 million more before it begins carrying out the plans, because construction costs have skyrocketed. more [Downtown Express]
