Spitzer names new DEC chief

Gov. Spitzer appointed Suzanne Mattei the Department of Environmental Conservation’s New York City-region chief. Mattei, who has a 26-year career in environmental advocacy and is currently the executive director of the Sierra Club’s national office, will oversee the mitigation of issues ranging from air pollution enforcement to vapor intrusion in buildings. more [Metro]
