Atlantic Yards hearing draws crowd

The first oral arguments were heard yesterday for a lawsuit challenging the Empire State Development Corporation’s Environmental Impact Statement for Atlantic Yards. The hearing, which drew “a packed house,” mostly focused on whether the 22-acre Brooklyn project will cause environmental blight after it is built. The lawsuit has been brought against developer Forest City Ratner by Develop Don’t Destroy Brooklyn and several other community groups. more [NYO]
