Nets plan for AY arena delay

The New Jersey Nets have acknowledged that their new arena at
Brooklyn’s Atlantic Yards won’t be ready in 2009 as hoped. Legal
challenges have delayed the massive project. Developer Forest City
Ratner has demolished 20 buildings and has begun working on temporary
Yards For The Long Island Rail Road. “Our goal is to be in the arena
during the calendar year 2010,” said Barry Baum, a Forest City Ratner
spokesman.
