The new owners of the historic Hotel Riverview in the far West Village face a $2,000 fine for illegally renovating the century-old 211-room hotel. The city issued stop-work order there earlier this month. Sean MacPherson and Eric Good, whose $27 million purchase of the hotel was first reported by The Real Deal, also own the Bowery Hotel, Maritime Hotel and Lafayette House. Their plans for the building include restoring the original façade and rebuilding a cupola on the roof and redoing the interior. They reportedly started work a week before closing the purchase and before getting work permits.
