The controller of Lenox Terrace, a well-known six-building apartment
complex between Fifth and Lenox avenues, from 132nd to 135th Street,
that is home to Gov. David A. Paterson, has been accused of stealing
over $1 million from the building’s management company. Ellen Hauer
pleaded not guilty to grand larceny in Manhattan Criminal Court
yesterday. She is accused of spending the stolen money on furs,
jewelry, leased cars and restaurant meals. Lenox Terrace is also home
to Congressman Charles Rangel. A Bronx property involved in the case,
the Century in Riverdale, is home to Tracy Morgan, the actor and
comedian.
